Born to one of the prestigious samurai families of Doma, Princess grew up well taught and well cared for. Even under Imperial rule, she wanted for little. She was assigned a private tutor who did their best to teach her anything and everything about Garlemald, while her parents, for their part, taught her just as much about Doma and their own history and culture. As the only child, it was expected of her to one day become the head of the family and thus was she taught the ways of the samurai from the moment she could hold a sword. Princess did her best to live up to everything her parents wished of her, but nearly perfect is still not perfect. No matter what challenge she overcame, new skill she mastered, or lesson memorized and taken to heart, it was never good enough. She felt she was always one step behind where she needed to be.Over the years, the pressure of expectations strained her family's relationship and Princess began to view her home as a cage. She thought of plenty of ways to leave, to free herself, but never acted upon any of them; too worried as she was of the repercussions. So she maintained her role, both that of the dutiful daughter, as well as the future head of house for the Hoshizora line. When her best chance finally did arrive, it was the last avenue she would have hoped for.Rebellion. Tensions with the Empire had never quite settled since the occupation had begun, and now they were coming to a head once again. Messages were passed in secret, under the cover of night; a call for all able-bodied men and women of Doma to lend their strength in the coming fight to retake their homeland. Her parents were unable and unwilling to refuse the summons, but war, they decided, was no place for one yet to see her twentieth winter. With a great deal of haste and no small amount of coin spent, Princess’ belongings were packed and a trip to Kugane was planned; from there, she was to sail with a retainer for Eorzea.Princess remained in Hingashi’s main port for a fortnight, waiting on the ship that was to take her away from the brewing conflict. During this time, not knowing how long it would be before she’d see her parents again and feeling that she would be much more prepared to deal with any consequences at that time, Princess finally took the opportunity to run. Evading her attendant, she managed to book passage on a different ship to Eorzea, one leaving the night before her intended departure, collected her things, and left. The voyage was long but uneventful, the ship eventually docking on Vylbrand’s eastern coast, in Costa del Sol. This was to be a fresh start, she decided. Here, she was no one; not nobility, nor a well-trained fighter. Going so far even as vowing to never lift a sword again, Princess was determined to look towards naught but the future. She managed to find work at the resort and thought that would be it; at least until she had a better understanding of the new land she found herself in. Her employment did not last long, however, as trouble proved inevitable. An unfortunate case of 'wrong time wrong place' found Princess with a new ambition to help others, coupled with a desire to see and experience more of the world. However, with her still recent promise fresh in her mind, her first steps directed her to the Arcanist’s Guild of Limsa Lominsa. From there she built a whole new life, and while the longing to return did grow as time passed, the opportunities to travel, meet new people, and learn new things keeps any homesickness mostly in check.

Hooks

Ever Studious.
Princess has recently taken it upon herself to delve into conventional academia and has enrolled at the Studium. She seems, for all intents and purposes, to be just another student, but has quickly shown an aptitude for most any course work thrown her way and a willingness to share notes or debate theories should she be asked; she never appears too stressed or overworked to talk.
Are you one of her professors or a fellow student interested in what she’s up to or in need of assistance? Or are you just visiting Sharlayan and are in need of a guide around town? Whatever your reason, she’ll do her best to make time to chat!Healer for… Hire?
The spark of wanderlust ever present, Princess has started selling her services as a healer to those heading off to dangerous places that may require one. While the cost of hiring her can be high, she is willing to lower it should the destination prove interesting enough.
She’s not very good at marketing her skills to every passerby, but her name can be found in the Arcanist Guild of Limsa Lominsa as well as a freelancer with the Grand Companies and from the Doman Enclave.Hearth and Home.
With the occupation of Doma ended, Princess returned to her homeland to help rebuild. She has taken up residence in the Enclave as she does what she can for her people, and frequently travels back via aetheryte to simply spend time in the area.
If you also spend any amount of time in the Enclave, it’s likely you’ve seen her about, either helping or just vibing! Feel free to wave her over or inquire about it!Alike in Radiance to that of the Sun...
Unbeknownst even to herself, Princess has reserves of aether bordering on the inconceivable (likened unto individuals from times of eld...), with the how, why, and from whence being difficult questions to answer, if she even knew to ask. With the casting efficiency of arcanima's glyphs and runes, the amount she expends even in heated combat —while enough to bring most fully realized mages to their knees— is but a drop in the bucket.
While she has learned how to mask her aether when needed, when going about her day to day, Princess often doesn't bother. Are you someone who's particularly sensitive to aether or (potentially worse) someone with aethersight? If so, the walking sun is sure to draw your attention!Something Familiar…
Princess grew up a Doman noble under Garlean occupation. While she is a very different person to who she was before she left for Eorzea, it’s possible she could be recognized.
Were you also Doman nobility who may have crossed paths with her in her early years, or maybe a member of the Garlean army stationed in Monzen who’s particularly good with faces. (This one requires OOC discussion first)
